WOMEN’S GROUP WILL MEET TODAY – Our Sts. Mary and Martha women’s group mainly coordinates volunteers for the many routine chores that need to be done to keep our community life operating smoothly, such as bringing food and cleaning. The group meets occasionally to discuss this, but mostly communicates by email. There is no membership or dues; everyone is urged to participate. Many of our men are bringing food, cleaning, and doing other such chores, so our men are also invited to participate in this meeting, as well as catechumens and frequent attendees. But if you hate meetings but are willing to bring food, clean, or do other tasks, just let Leslie Wood know this. — Fr. Paul

OUR SUNDAY CHURCH SCHOOL will resume September 10. Susan Ainsworth will be Superintendent. More information on the program and teachers will be sent soon. We thank Andrea Thorn, retiring Superintendent, for her hard work and enthusiastic leadership.

HOLY RESURRECTION MEN’S RETREAT will be October 20-21 at Roosevelt State Park. To sign up, speak to Johnny Cano.

I have never been anywhere but sick. In a sense, sickness is a place, more instructive than a long trip to Europe, and it’s always a place where there’s no company, where nobody can follow. Sickness before death is a very appropriate thing and I think those who don’t have it miss one of God’s mercies. — Flannery O’Connor

Noah’s ark is an icon of salvation in the Church – but it was full of beasts. — Jonathan Pageau
