Julie and Steve will be crowned in marriage this Saturday, February 16, at 2 p.m. Their sponsors will be Al and Cathy Lawson. All are invited to the Baptism and Crowning. There will be no wedding reception.

NEW ICONS of St. Mary Magdalene, St. Helena, and the Elevation of the Holy Cross by Fr. Andrew Tregubov are now in the Temple. These will be blessed when the donors are able to be present.

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION – Please let us know if you will attend our Anniversary meals (see below) – send an email to Fr. Paul. Cost of the Friday night dinner is $40 per plate; please give a check to Tim or Kitty. Members who need help with this please speak to Fr. Paul. There will be no charge for the Saturday lunch, but we need to know how many are coming.

YOUTH FUND – Each summer we try to make it possible for all our children aged 9-17 to attend an Orthodox summer camp. This is very worthwhile and our children love it. They return with a deeper bond to Orthodoxy and many Orthodox friends from all over the country. It is expensive; tuition for two weeks is $650 per child. Some generous donations are needed if we are to fund all our children. Parents: please let Fr. Paul know now if your child will go to camp.

CLAUDIA MORRIS will perform in The Sound of Music at Actor’s Playhouse in Pearl Feb. 22, 23, and 28 and March 1-2 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 24 and March 3 at 2 p.m. To reserve tickets call 601-664-0930. Claudia plays the part of the housekeeper, Frau Schmidt. For more information see www.actorsplayhouse.net.

QUOTATIONS:
It is more important that we should remember God than that we should breathe; so it is not continual remembrance of God that I seek to discourage, but continual discussion of theology. – St. Gregory the Theologian
God wants man to attend chiefly to two things: To eternity itself, and to that point of time which they call the Present. For the Present is the point at which time touches eternity. Of the present moment, and of it only, humans have an experience which [God] has of reality as a whole; in it alone freedom and actuality are offered them. C.S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters
